In a recent study 12 commercial serologic tests for Mycoplasma pneumoniae IgG and IgM (mostly EIAs) and a complement fixation test were evauated, with PCR as ”the gold standard”.  Ani Labsystems’ Mycoplasma pneumoniae IgM EIA test showed the best performance with the sensitivity of 77 % and specificity of 92 %.  Ani Labsystems’ Mycoplasma pneumoniae IgG EIA had one of the best sensitivities for the detection of increase in IgG titer.
