More than 600 000 samples were screened for congenital toxoplasmosis (CT) using Ani Labsystems’ test for T.gondii IgM. The results of this large study, conducted in 1995 - 2006, were presented in Toxoplasma Centennial Congress in Brazil in September 20-24, 2008. 1/1761 neonates could be confirmed with CT after serum tests. The false positive rate in the screening was only 0,10. % Doctor Neto and his group concluded that inclusion of congenital toxoplasmosis in neonatal screening programs is well justified.
