Fluorometric determination of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase  (G6PD) activity from blood specimens dried on filter paperis now available. This is a major step forward over the traditional qualitative fluorescence-spot method. Quantitative test is easy to perform and gives excellent reproducibility. Easily adaptable to existing screening systems.
